How We Got Here

ReportsAI didn't start in a boardroom. It started in the field — from firsthand frustration with how impact data was being collected, managed and reported across the development and social enterprise sector.

2024 — The Problem

Recognizing a Broken System

Working alongside NGOs and development organizations, our founders saw the same story play out repeatedly: talented teams spending 60–70% of their time on data collection and reporting — using a patchwork of forms, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools — leaving little time for actual programming. The data that did get collected was often incomplete, inconsistent, or arrived too late to inform decisions.

2024 — The Insight

AI as the Great Equalizer

We realized that advances in AI — particularly in natural language processing, conversational agents, and automated analysis — created a unique opportunity to rebuild the entire impact data stack from scratch. Not with incremental improvements to existing tools, but with a fundamentally different approach: one that puts AI at every stage of the data lifecycle, while keeping humans and communities firmly in control.

2025 — The Build

ReportsAI Is Born

We launched ReportsAI with our first cohort of partner organizations across Africa and Europe. The response from the sector validated everything we had hypothesized.

2025 — Recognition

First 10 Customers & Backed by Antler

ReportsAI signed its first 10 customer organizations across the NGO, development finance and social enterprise sectors — validating the platform in real field conditions. The same year, we were backed by Antler, one of the world's leading early-stage venture capital firms, fueling our ability to scale the product and grow the team. These two milestones marked ReportsAI's transition from promising idea to proven platform.

Today & Beyond

Building the Standard for Impact Data

We are actively expanding our platform capabilities, deepening integrations with global impact frameworks, and growing our presence across Africa, Europe and beyond.
